This is exactly what it sounds like, I just added chocolate chips to my sourdough a baked it and I am IN LOVE so I thought I would share it with you guys!
One of the things I love most about sourdough is that you have sooo much creative control. You can do so many different things with it. Plus once you count everything you can make with the starter alone the options are endless!
My cousin tried out our recipe the other day and loved it, she was kind enough to give me a loaf and it was DELICIOUS! It was also just a little different from mine like she took it and made it her own just a little and I think that’s the coolest thing about sourdough baking! My aunt taught me how to make it and mine is also just a little different from hers. Now a lot of this is just depending on different kinds of flour and other variables. However, a lot of making sourdough is pretty much just winging it and seeing how it turns out.
Here is a little look at my most recent sourdough adventure!
I followed the same recipe as usual keeping everything the same and just added the chocolate chips during the second stretch and fold. So for every fold I did I would put chocolate chips in with that layer. And it looked like this…
And here it is scored about to be baked, I was a little nervous at this point because my dough was looking a little like a puddle but it baked and rose very nicely!
So if you’ve been thinking about adding something to your sourdough or trying new things DO IT! One of the best things about sourdough is it’s flexible and so much fun to try new things!
